Japanese village where dolls replace the departed
MIYOSHI, JAPAN - JULY 9 : Hand-made dolls are are placed around the village made by local resident Tsukimi Ayano to replace the the departed on July 9, 2015 in Nagoro village, in Miyoshi, Japan. Nagoro is a slowly shrinking village located in the valleys of Shikoku, Japan. According to Japan's Statistic Bureau, the percentage of people over 65 years old in Japan is 26.8% while that of the the world is 8.2%. The National Institute of Population and Social Security Research in Tokyo, Japan's population, now around 128 million, is expected to dip below 100 million in 2046.
