Japanese village where dolls replace the departed
MIYOSHI, JAPAN - JULY 9 : Hand-made dolls are are placed around the village made by local resident Tsukimi Ayano to replace the departed on July 9, 2015 in Nagoro village, Miyoshi, Japan. Nagoro is a slowly shrinking village located in the valleys of Shikoku, Japan. According to Japan's Statistic Bureau, the percentage of people over 65 years old in Japan is 26.8% while that of the the world is 8.2%. The National Institute of Population and Social Security Research in Tokyo, Japan's population, now around 128 million, is expected to dip below 100 million in 2046.
